Put a Billboard in Your Living Room

What are you advertising to yourself?

Businesses spend billions on their own each year advertising their products to you. Getting you to see and hear their images and words. Simply seeing and hearing about these items on a consistent basis, you are more likely to buy their service or product.

Why? Because it works!!!

When people or businesses want something, they do what works.

So my question is, why don’t more people have billboards inside their homes? We do in a way, seeing the boxes and bags of places we shop and products purchased. But, why isn’t this something we do as a proven strategy or technique to increase the quality of our lives?

Hell, what would happen if our hospital walls were lined with photos of people (patients) who were healthy and smiling? Wouldn’t that make you feel better? Better than seeing a bland, cold, white wall.

Stickers on Mirrors

For years, I’ve known and read about the power of positive thinking and people putting notes and stickers on their mirrors to remind them of their goals. I’ve done this a few times, but, after a few days would take them down.

Now, I’m going to do it again.

This morning I put a sticker on my bathroom mirror that reads,

Each day I become more and more successful.

And another one that reads,

Shoulders back and relaxed.

This time, I’m doing it from the foundation of the past few months of meditating and making conscious efforts to focus my thoughts on what feels good.

I suppose I was also inspired by Marisa Peers’ “I am enough.” treatment. (not affiliated with her products) It’s really not new – the power of self-talk, but, again, why aren’t more people doing this? It’s free and it works. That’s why companies spend over a hundred billion each year on showing us words and images.
